    Cantucci di Prato

    History

Cantucci are the typical Tuscan almond biscuits. Cantucci ("little corners") are an ancient biscuit, dating back to the Renaissance period, but only became famous in 1867 when they were presented at the Paris Exposition by the Prato pastry-maker Antonio Mattei. The crispness of the biscuit comes from the double baking: the first time they are baked as a loaf while the second, once cut into their typical shape, toasted as single slices. Gourmio proposes the 11-piece box. Luigi Biasetto's philosophy is to think rationally, to express creativity and to convey emotions. Born in Brussels but originally from Italy, Luigi Biasetto is constantly experimenting with new flavors, seeking the perfect balance between the ingredients. We at Gourmio were at the Biasetto atelier and collaborated with the master to bring you the best sweets in Italian pastry-making. Traditional biscuits, chocolates and jellies: finish your meal in sweetness with a Luigi Biasetto dessert!
